One of the most exciting new advancements in music technology is the Yamaha TransAcoustic system, which enables pianists to play with volume control without headphones! First and foremost, this piano is a traditional professional upright piano. But, you can use it in other capacities, too. You can play with headphones, like you can with a Yamaha Silent Piano, but you also can take off the headphones, activate TransAcoustic mode and play with volume control. Essentially, you can disengage the acoustic properties and allow the hammers to activate an amazingly realistic sample, which uses the soundboard, not speakers, for amplification. Because there are no speakers, it’s incredibly realistic. There are other sounds available, too.
