The Perfect Piano

“A professor of piano at the University of Washington School of Music recommended Ben Klinger at Classic Pianos when  I was in the market for a piano. I contacted Ben and let him know what I was looking for.  He invited me to the Classic Pianos store to try some pianos that he thought would meet my needs.  Thanks to his piano expertise and understanding of what I wanted in a piano, I found a beautiful Schimmel with a rich, warm sound and  excellent touch.  I have loved playing this piano ever since.  I am thankful that Classic Pianos was recommended to me and would unreservedly recommend them to anyone searching for the perfect piano.”

Knowledgeable and Patient

“We bought a Yamaha GC1 here and have been very happy with the purchase.  I made a couple of visits before buying and got to know many of the people who work here.  They were all knowledgable and patient, let me take my time playing lots of pianos and helped me figure out the right one for our family.  They really made sure that I was happy with the piano and gladly made adjustments to get it sounding just right.  I’m hoping to upgrade to a larger piano in a few years and will happily return when the time comes.”

Best in the Region

“The selection of pianos at this store is the best in the region.  Not only is it the only store where you can find the most current Yamaha grands (the X series), but they also have several European and American brands.  The difference is that they are incredibly selective in accepting only good-condition used pianos, as well as showcasing new pianos.

I can’t say enough about how good of an experience I had the people at Classic Pianos during this almost 1 year process of finding a piano.”

Expectations Exceeded

“Shopping at Classic Pianos exceeded our expectations!  We were interested in an upright piano and Ben was attentive and guided us through the different options.  The showroom was stocked with multiple pianos to choose from and to play.  We chose a Yamaha B3 at an affordable price and we couldn’t be happier.  Highly recommended!”

Service to Our Community

“I would like to add that more important than their good service and their good prices, I think Classic Pianos is playing an important role in keeping the flame alive. I am talking about keeping the music alive and giving our children the chance to discover how great music is and how beautiful pianos can sound. By making awesome pianos affordable, by taking the time to educate their clients, Classic Pianos is doing a great service to our music community.”

Zero Pressure

“We had no idea where to start with buying a piano suitable for a beginner and Haidi Yang took such great care of us and helped us select a beautiful piano. She offered a demonstration on the various types and went over all of the pros and cons for different models. After the purchase was made, she gave us a list of recommended piano teachers in our area that are effective at teaching young beginners. Our experience from beginning to end was pleasant, relaxed, and we felt zero pressure to buy anything. I highly recommend Classic Pianos if you are looking to invest in a piano.”

My wife and I decided to go shopping for a digital piano, and we went to Classic Pianos since they're the official Yamaha Clavinova dealer in Bellevue. Lamar met us when we arrived, and we enjoyed talking with him about the various … More Yamaha models. We were impressed by the friendly and low-pressure atmosphere in the shop, and spent quite a while playing various pianos (including some acoustic ones as well as the digital models we were shopping for). We also appreciated the use of masks and hand sanitizer available that made us less worried about touching all those piano keys.
We came back the next day to play some more before deciding, and ended up putting in an order for the model we wanted.
Highly recommended for a pleasant piano shopping experience!

About a month ago, my husband and I went into Classic Pianos and had the best experience with Lamar! After months of researching different pianos, we knew a Kawai would probably have the sound we prefer - more balanced when it came to the … More sound being more mellow or bright. On the Classic Pianos website, we saw a used upright and baby grand K. Kawai that interested us. I sent an inquiry to ask about the prices, and Lamar responded shortly after - eventually scheduling an appointment the same day to look at it in person.
Lamar was a very patient and kind person. Not only did he show us both pianos we requested and answered all questions asked, but he was so knowledgeable about these beautiful instruments. Not once did we feel pressured to make a purchase; and he went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Adriana was who helped us with the transaction itself - she was so kind!
At the time of purchase, we had to figure out what to do with our old upright at home. Lamar gave us an idea of what they would take for it or what we can try to sell it for. We ended up keeping it stored at a family member's house for now, but it's good to know that we can probably sell it to Classic Pianos in the future. Delivery itself was great - the moving company they work with handled it with care.
Overall, I'd recommend Classic Pianos to anyone whose in the process of looking into investing in one. They have a large selection of new, used, digital, etc. While we worked with Lamar mostly, every employee we met was very nice and I could tell each person had so much passion for music. What a lovely experience!

One of the best purchase experiences I've yet had. Ben and all of the staff at Classic were tremendously helpful, thoughtful, and very well-informed. Absolutely love my new Yamaha grand, and I'll definitely be back!

I had an excellent experience purchasing a used upright piano. Classic Pianos seems to take great care in the selection of pianos they offer. I would have been happy with any of the uprights they had in the store - all of them had a beautiful … More sound and had responsive action. Classic Pianos was unique in this respect among the stores we visited, as other stores had a mix of pianos from good to horrible. Each piano was unique in terms of sound, price, age, brand, etc. - so there was a wide selection. We spoke extensively with James, who has a deep knowledge of how the pianos are made and how various factors contribute to quality. He advised us on how to care for the piano and why regular tuning is important to prolong the life of the piano. With the way they interact with customers and the services they offer, you can tell they are more focused on gaining a lifelong customer than in making a one-time sale. The piano movers they selected did a fantastic job - they were careful with the piano and the floor and walls in our house, and were very professional.

I bought a Yamaha digital piano from Classic Pianos for the family's island home (humidity, salt, power outages, etc. etc.). Before I came to the store, Lamar Roach spent an hour with me on Zoom answering all my questions and explaining … More differences between Yamaha models. When I came in the following week, he encouraged me to play each model for as long as I wanted, and--when he realized how nervous I was with people standing around listening--he quietly moved not only the entire staff but also my hovering family members to the other end of the second showroom in this expansive store. The digitals range from the very modest up to a five-figure model engineered to feel exactly like an acoustic piano. I chose a lower-end version because it was in stock, secure in the knowledge that I could trade up when the slightly pricier model arrives in the fall (with a zero-depreciation guarantee on the trade-in), or anytime within the next two years. This was a great experience with a knowledgeable and highly professional staff (including the warehouse staff).

Choosing a piano is an extremely important decision. I spoke with many people before I finally purchased. I have never written a google review before but my experience with Classic Pianos was well beyond what I could have ever imagined. … More Lamar (hoping I spelled that right) is not only knowledgeable but extremely honest and straightforward. He is also a genuinely kind human being and will guide you through the decision making process thoughtfully. I highly recommend Classic Pianos in Bellevue and most particularly Lamar. Ask for him!!

This is an amazing, excellent piano store. All of the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. James Han has been the salesman I have worked with the last few times I have been there, and he is so friendly and helpful. The manager, … More Ben Klinger, is the same. In addition to great staff, Classic Pianos has excellent pianos that are all wonderfully prepped. It is a joy to shop there, and I am especially excited to see their new show room the next time I am there.

Unbeatable Prices

“I have the chance to meet with both Fred and John on my multiple visits to the store.  They are very patient and helpful with my piano search even though I have a modest budget.  Their prices on the new pianos are unbeatable.  I found same model of used Yamaha from craigslist cost the same as what they quoted me for a NEW one.  They also have a big show room with the finest hand-made big name American/European pianos.”

“I needed a reliable in-tune piano on a shoestring budget… The staff are courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Their policy allows you to trade-in a purchased instrument within two years at full value toward an upgrade — which tells you that they are sincerely dedicated to providing quality pianos for any household. It’s worth a visit just to look at the beautiful array of instruments they have in their showrooms. I would do business with Classic Pianos again.”

Stellar Delivery

“So far we’ve had good experience with Classic Pianos, especially with Heidi who told us of a great used piano that they had in stock and in which we jumped all over it. They were able to work with us and came down in price to meet our budget and got us a beautiful piano.

Delivery was stellar and we have yet to cash in on our one free tuning but I don’t expect any issues. The delivery guys were super knowledgeable and you can tell that they are really passionate about pianos (even if they don’t play!) If you’re looking for a piano, talk to Heidi!”

High Quality

“I was looking for a high quality piano, and I emailed from their online form to ask what they had in their inventory. Ben Klinger emailed me back with the information of some pianos they had to find out what kind of piano I was looking for. … He also suggested many pianos in the showroom to help me find what kind of piano I would really love. …
I am very satisfied with the piano and all the services I have received from Classic Pianos. If you are looking for a piano, you won’t go wrong to start checking their inventory.”

Incredibly Well Cared For

“I recently had the pleasure of buying a piano with Ben and his team at Classic pianos. … My own teacher advised me to check out Classic as he’d had some other students buy from Ben in the past and their experiences had been uniformly positive. … Ben and his team made me feel incredibly well cared for throughout the buying process … under no circumstances should you miss out on the experience they offer at Classic Pianos”
